Here are a few tips on caring for and keeping your sod in great shape.
Water sod immediately after installation. No sod should go longer than 1 hour before water is applied.
Water should be applied so as to adequately soak each piece of sod and underlying soil. You can lift one corner of sod to check soil moisture.
During the next several days you must water sod as needed, which can generally be up to four times per day.
After sod has rooted, you can cut back number of watering sessions.
You can begin to mow as soon as pieces will not move when walked on and mower will not pull up sod, approximately 3 to 4 weeks.
We recommend 3 in. cutting height for Fescue and 1 to 3 in. for Bermuda and Zoysia.
Gaps in sod are normal and will disappear over time after mowing. If weeds appear, you may apply herbicide.
We strongly recommend proper fertilizer and herbicide applications as needed.
